Epox 4G4A+ HS bracket is a little raised?

I have the Epox 4G4A+ and the Intel 1.6A@2.1Ghz. It seems when I lay the HS on top of the processor with Arctic Silver 2, the whole imprint of the processor is not showing up. The HS/F that I am using has copper bottom and pretty shiny and seems flat. I press the HS all the way down and it came up with about half of it showing. I notice the 4 plastic pins that hold the black HS bracket down is a little raised but I don't think they are the ones that causing the problem. Any suggestion here?

That's not good. try verifying the imprint after using the retension bracket.

The motherboard is reporting 36C idle and 40C or 41C at load. Should I RMA it or take the bracket off and buy an alpha for it?
