Episode 1 Racer problem...

Here's the specs of the machine:

Athlon Classic 800
ASUS K7M
128mb Mushkin RAM
Visiontek Geforce2 MX running Detonator 3's (not overclocked)

Well, my friend just bought Episode 1 Racer, and he cannot seem to get it running. Once it is installed, and he runs it, the blue bar at the bottom partially loads then boots him back to his desktop. He also sometimes gets errors when installing it. I borrowed the game and put it on my brother's Duron 600 system with a V770 Ultra, and it runs perfectly. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!
 
first make sure he has the latest version of directx. 7.0a is the newest. you can check by going to program files/directx/dxdiag. will say there somewhere. if that doesnt work drop back to older vid drivers. i couldnt get swat3 ee to run on anything after 5.33 try using those, and if they dont work try 5.22 if those dont work dunno what it is.
 
Well, I told him to install the VIA 4 in 1 drivers, and it fixed the problem. Thanks for the input j00.
