I just realized when i removed my HSF from my CPU, the thermal paste (AS5) had totally come of of the CPU in the center of it. So basically there was a donut shaped amount of AS5 on my CPU (a hole of nothing in the middle) and my HSF had all of the past on it.

for people who think my explanation is kinda weird..

my CPU

x = thermal paste

0 = empty space

Your CPU and/or your HSF isn't flat...

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, in your situation, since you obviously have metal-to-metal contact taking place in the center, squeezing out the grease!

How are your temps?

oh my temps are crap.

like 47 C idle. (i'm waiting for my AC Freezer 7 Pro to arrive)

I've taken off my HSF (my current one being a thermaltake i1) like 6x total since i first built it (somewhere in june)
