Elpida is one of several top memory chip manufactures. So yes, I've heard of it and would buy it. Micron seems to be one of the best right now though.

And yes, Elpida is one of many RAM manufacturer, like Micron, PSC, Samsung, Hynix, Infineon, etc.

Well I was looking on ebay and this memory isnt selling. No someone was offering to sell me this memory in bulk meaning 20 peaces or so at $35/pc.

Elpida was formed from NEC, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi's DRAM businesses. Its a Japanese DRAM company with its own design center and fabs, supplying everything from wafers to complete chips to a number of companies including PSC. Genuine Elpida modules are as good as Micron, Samsung, Qmonda, and other first-tier OEM modules. However, just because it uses Elpida chips doesn't mean the modules are genuine Elpida.
