At a $3000 budget, why are you focusing on Z97, when Intel's X99 platform just came out? The 8-core 5960X might be a little overpriced at $1000, but the 5820K hex-core is fairly reasonable at just under $400.
 
You say you're 3D rendering...but with Adobe? So, that's just Photoshop then? If you were using real 3D rendering software, I'd suggest looking for a GTX Titan on Ebay for ~$750.

Otherwise, there's no reason to get a 780ti when you can overclock a non-ti. For your purposes even lower video cards might work just fine, but I'm not sure how much lower.

There's a little space in the budget to swap the video card for a Titan. There's also space on the mobo to add 32GB more RAM when DDR4 prices come down.

If you really don't plan to overclock that much, the water cooler could be swapped for something else too.
