Ok I got this idea after someone posted a thread a while back that was American Pie vs. Stairway to Heaven and which is better then someone mentioned Freebird too.
Since I consider them both "epics" I want to know what other epic songs y'all can think of out there. By "epic" I mean that it had a profound effect on you or society. Something you consider a great band's best work, or just a really really good song. Don't list a song just because it's your favorite, list it because it's "epic" ok.

I thought of a couple of others listed here
Beatles - Hey Jude
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Guns N' Roses - November Rain
I could probably think of more, but that's too much effort for me right now

Metallica - One
A great song with a great video based on the book, "Johnny Got His Gun"

Metallica - Unforgiven
Another great one from Metallica. The Unforgiven II really sucked though.

The Orb Live 93 by The Orb.

The whole album. Both discs back to back. I still can't really play pool without thinking back.

BoberFett I meant to ask people not to post that one but forgot. I figured it would be too tempting for someone to not do it.

Yeah Yakko!!! If we're going to get into the realm of electronic music also, I must nominate my favorite song of all time, Halcyon by Orbital. Beautiful song....sends shivers down my spine everytime I hear it.

werk,

I could name a whole lot more that are epic but none moved me as much as the Orb did. Part of it was the place I was in physically and mentally.(no drugs though so get your mind off that)

EDIT==> Oh yeah Blue Room by The Orb. 40 minutes of pure listening immersion.

Is it just me or do my posts just not last too long ever. I've gotta come up with some better topics to post. I'm beginning to think you people just don't like me or something.

BahaMen: Who Let the Dogs Out?
It's EVERYWHERE these days! You can't go to any sporting event and not hear it.

Not that it's one of my absolutely favorite songs, but I belive that Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" has made an impact of some sort
