It's ok for straight guys to talk about penises. It is not ok for straight guys to play with others penises though.

Back on topic, what is the i7, mobo and memory running for you guys price wise? I figured it would be at least $820 to buy all three. (This is with 3 x 2GB DDR3)

New tubes maybe? I don't think they are that expensive. When I had watercooling I used 1/2" tubing I bought from Home Depot. There was enough where if it got dirty I could take it all apart and replace the tubes with newly cut ones.

If you want to keep the ones you have you could use a rifle cleaning rod on them. I heard that works well.

Newegg has the i965 for $1,070. Have a guess how much the UK shops are selling it for? £900 (or $1,350 at 1:1.5 exchange rate). That's not fair.

Crappy exchange rate and higher taxes :frown:

With the election of Obama and a possible super majority of his party in the Senate, I am almost certain we will be experiencing the joys of paying VAT in the near future. The Dems have a penchant for European style politics and taxes.

RAM $250
920 CPU $320 (from Newegg, $20 cheaper at Microcenter depending on taxes)
MSI board $220

= $690

All these are Newegg pricing as of right now. Note that this particular MSI board does not support SLI at all, and I've seen one person say that it is "crap" though he didn't back up that statement.

You don't have to wait for Obama, just move to the decidedly red state of Texas and pay your 8.25% sales tax on every item you wish to purchase.

In Texas it's called a sales tax instead of a VAT because they aren't particularly too concerned with whether any value was added prior to you purchasing the item in question.

Coincidentally I lived even longer in another sales-tax-only state, Washington, which is decidedly a blue state. Identical tax policy, give us your 8.25% please, thanks.

GOP tax plans are not superior to Dem tax plans.

VAT in the UK is currently 17.5%. I say currently, because someone (tax payers) will have to pay for the £700 billion (or £20k per tax payer) proposed bailout, probably through increased taxes.

P.S. Sorry for hijacking the thread McCartney

I don't care, it's cool.
I paid 1349 for mine in Canadian dollars so the international people shouldn't feel too robbed.
There are many more costs of sending a domestic product internationally..

Shall we leave the editorializing for forums where it's relevant? I could have plenty to say in response. But it's not the right thing to do here.

Wouldn't you need to run your chip at 4.6 GHZ to make full use of that RAM?

Are those 1/2" barbs on that EX58 Extreme? Eh...guess I could go look it up...

I've never really cared much for Gigabyte boards in the past(even though I've got a DS3L in my other setup and it's decent) but I've been looking at that extreme for about a week now. Pretty hard to pass up if the block on it is half decent and the board doesn't have too many bugs.

Let us know how that board turns out.

Edit: Ok, looks like it has 3/8" barbs. You would think they would figure this out already....WE WANT 1/2"(ID) BARBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still a nice looking board though.
