To avoid the "no boot while printer is connected" problem make sure that you get a good power supply. EP-8K7A+ / EP-8K7A + Printer (Parallel port device ) + low end Power supply will cause the system unbootable. Above mentioned issue is caused by cost down power supply whose +5V voltage is out of standard range.
Solution: Remove QA6, (The right of AGP slot ) or replace your power supply with a high quality power supply. Certain combinations
of power supplies with devices attached to the printer port may produce the non-boot issue. For best results Epox recommend 'SPI' and 'Seventeam' brand power supplies. So make sure you have this before you build your system. This is comfirmed by Epox, I am not making this up.
