EOS 500D/T1i video lacking "big sensor advantage"?

States here that the HD video from the 500D is "jaggy" and not better than a standard HD camcorder in low light, which may suggest that the 500D is not using its entire sensor to capture HD video. Anyone know if this is actually the case, and whether Nikon's D5000 and D90 also only use a small portion of their sensors for HD video?

Of course it's not using the entire sensor for video capture. Do you know what the bandwidth would be to do a whole sensor capture @ 15MP thirty times per second? It's a lot.

The 5D2, D90, D5000, or any DSLR doing video capture isn't using their entire sensor. But the 5D2 has the cleanest results because of it's higher capture resolution and larger photosites.

I've seen many professional and user reviews commenting on the jaggy or alising issue.
I, too, saw same issues on my 5D mk2. That's until I put the sharpness all the way down to 0.
Picture Style that works wonderfully on photos don't seem to work well on video mode. For video mode, putting down sharpness and contrast level far lower seems to be the way to go.
