fuuuuuck. I just ordered one off of amazon this saturday. It comes out to be the same price configured to match the one I got except with HP I lose the Beats headphones and get the slice battery which both retail for about the same...

Id much rather have the battery =/

Crap. I just ordered the Beats edition from Newegg for $1149. It came with the 2.53ghz i5 and 640gb HDD and the Beats headphones. Those things suck so I ebayed em and made 125 bucks. So the beats edition ran me 1025 no taxes, and 10 for shipping, not too bad for the config but wish I coulda got it for 800ish

I really wish they had a better GPU in the 14...the 5850 would be awesome. The thing is made of aluminum, so why not just run some heatpipes and use the case as a heatsink.

How did you get that? It came out to be about the same price after I speced it out with the headphones?

Given they charged me tax, but it was about $105 for tax.

Btw I think the deal is dead now.

It would run way too hot, and people would complain about the case burning their hands / lap.

Even the Envy 17 seems to have problems with the HD 5850. These things are pretty thin, and high-tier graphics chips like the HD 5850 generally only make it into 1.5-2" thick notebooks with fairly large fans.

I'm so mad HP decided to go away with 1600x900 display option on 14" series. I would have so jumped on this deal if they still offered it as an option... 1366x768 on a 14" screen is ridiculous.

I have the Envy with the 1368x768 and it isn't that bad for a regular user, but I do find myself wanting the 1600x900 res very often. As a matter of fact I am looking for someone who has a 1600x screen to trade with (+cash).
