The History Channel is the best channel. There is almost always something good.

Thumper calls it "the Hitler channel" because every other program is on WWII. :D

Agreed.

None of my friends will watch it with me though.

Time to find new friends I guess.

Does it mention the finnish Suomi-SMG? It should, it's one of those guns that changed the war (even if you didn't know it).

Come to think of it, given that WWII ended in 1945, the series could be 40 years old and still be "pretty accurate"... ;)

I love the History Channel myself.. Owning a Tivo is mandatory here.. Anyone watch Mail Call? That guy's hilarious..

yeah I saw it earlier.

One of my goals in life is to get myself a fully functional Thompon SMG, a BAR, along with a good old Garand.

Nope, the 31 was Finnish, therefore not covered.

Har har, I knew when I wrote that, that someone would say something.

I meant that the series is a couple of years old, AND is pretty accurate. Not like anything has changed :p I just meant to add that is was really accurate. Only a couple of things weren't exactly right, but no big deal (like with the M1 Carbine they were showcasing was really an M2).

Right now I'm looking for an Eddystone to round out my infantry rifle collection. The Thompson and the BAR are going to be tough :(

Real BARs go for $15K+, and M1A1 Thompsons about $9K+

Dizam :(

What was suprising was the "attic" thing they showed. Had no idea that place existed. New in box BARs, M3A1s, Jeeps, etc. Crazy.

I missed all but the German segment. Found that quite interesting though.

Yeah, History Channel is quite good. Took our cable operator a while, but they finally got it earlier this year.

The host is R. Lee Ermy, otherwise known as Sgt. Hartman from "Full Metal Jacket". Yeah, he's an awesome dude but they have him tamed down too much for the Mail Call show IMHO!
