'Enterprise' haters? Turns out it was all just a dream, after all!

Yup, for the series finale, we find out that the whole series was just a holodeck simulation.

Star Trek.com - the official site - has an article up on details of the shoot.

Some fascinating tidbits:
* Riker and Troi will be 'guest starring'
* A 'key location' of the shoot will be the 1701-D holodeck (the USS Enterprise from 'The Next Generation' series)
* Other sets they built for the shoot: Ten Forward (the bar on the 1701-D), Troi's quarters, the observation lounge, and TNG-style corridors

It's LONG been rumored that the season finale would be Troi and Riker participating in a fictional 'Pulp TV Show'-kind-of-thing (and, thus, that this is what all of 'Enterprise' we've seen to date has been) set in the early Federation years, and these details seem to confirm it.

From that article:
the finale does not involve time travel ? the most we'll tell you here is that it does involve the Holodeck......Throughout the eight days of shooting, Frakes [Riker] was at various points dressed in a TNG-era uniform; as an NX-01 crewman; as a MACO; and ... as one other person who perhaps should remain a surprise.

Ummm....riiiiiight.

This makes the baby jesus cry.

Although part of me is actually happy to see Riker on screen again. The fact that it's Riker + Troi makes it even better.

It'll probably be a good episode, but it's still a bogus way to end a series.

I am an Enterprise hater, even I couldn't imagine the suckyness of this kind of ending.

But as usual I must state the two crippling points of this show. Scott Bakula, UPN.

Cheap way out, if it's true, just like the friggin voyager ending. It was like playing a game on god mode....so cheap.

I wonder if Star Trek.com could have mentioned "What You Leave Behind" any more. It's simply the best ST finale to date, and it's a shame they're using it to tag "These Are The Voyages..." along with.

The episode was written by Berman and Braga, so if it does end up sucking, I think that pretty much explains it.

I personally thought "All Good Things" (the TNG finale) was the best finale to date.

so bobby is still alive and was never shot?

i'm so glad.

Yeah, why do they pull that kinda stuff?

I mean, NOBODY likes it. EVER. It NEVER goes over well to throw an ending like that - WHY do they keep doing it!?

I think they are trying to repair the now shattered ST Universe by undoing all the retarded events, such as the borg remains and the attack on earth.

Yeah I read about this. Lame-ass ending. The crappy part is there look to be a few cool episodes left in the season before this ends.

I hold the who cares attitude, because I've never seen the Enterprise. Maybe I should watch the finale for the beans of it

Yeah, there are a couple really good ones at least (I'm thinking the 'Mirror Universe' pair with the Defiant from the original series and Tholians - that's going to KICK). Apparently, we also get to see the Gorn again.

Some neat stuff, it's too bad they have to mess it up.
