I still kinda miss the NON CGI ships and battles when they used all of the models. They just looked better IMO. (Back when TNG was on the air)

models were OK for the old style one on one battles without a lot of manuever. DS9 and later there are too many ships and manuevering not to use CGI.

The battles in DS9 were awesome. Those were a mixture of CG and models. But I still think the original movies had the best shots of ships. The way they were filmed and moved slowly gave them the impression of being massive and powerfull. Even with TNG they moved passed the ships to fast and made them seem small.

well..the cg ships now have gotten to the point that they look pretty decent. i dont really miss themodels anymore.

assumin ur being serious, somewhere around ds9 is where they started with the cg i believe. atleast mixing in a little. voyager used a lot more.
