What was the purpose of the BCS anyways? What was it before? Why didn't they just keep the old system if it worked?
The purpose is to determine which team is #1 and which team is #2. It also helps conference presidents make more money by having more "marquee" games. Of course, everyone outside of South Bend knows that this is crap and that it comes down to ticket sales, local economy boosts and hotel rooms booked.

All that matters is #1 and #2. The rest of the games have been ruined.
I'd much rather have it the old way that the way it is now.
