An American tourist in London is exploring the city. He wanders around, seeing the sights, then stops at a pub to soak up the atmosphere with a beer. After a while, he finds himself in a classy neighbourhood, and can't find a toilet. He's bursting after the beer so he nips up a narrow sidestreet. As he's unzipping, a policeman taps his arm and says "Sorry sir, you can't do that here".
"Sorry officer," replies the American, "I really have to go and I just can't find a restroom".
"Ah yes," said the Bobby, "follow me". He leads him to a gate, which he opens. "In there," points the Bobby, "whiz away, anywhere you want".
The fellow enters and finds himself in the most beautiful garden; statues, fountains, sculpted hedges. Since he has the cops blessing, he lets go.
As he goes back through the gate, he says, "Very decent of you. Is that `British Hospitality'?".
"No," replied the policeman, with a satisfied smile on his face, "Thats the French Embassy".
