Enough with stating "repost" in every thread that's a repost...

For one, it's

Really getting to be annoying

Also,

Everybody hates when you do this and like to act stupid

And another thing they're good at,

Pissing people off... you've just got to drag it all out. Why can't somebody just say "repost" or better yet, not say it at all?

Obviously everyone who does this is getting damn annoying

oh yeah, did I mention

Stating the obvious fact in a stretched out bolding scheme is really lame?

And of course,

Telling everybody that the post is in fact a repost, is for surely just a nef attempt.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tell me if that isn't annoying and stupid? I just wanted people to get an understanding of how stupid things like this that people participate at here are...

That is all.

i'm pretty sure I've seen a thread like this before...umm, it was sometime in the last 5 months, and the topic contains the word "why". I'll link when I find it, promise ;)

repo.....errr, this type of thread has already been done. At least they are getting creative in ways of letting people know :)

Hence this is the way if informing someone of a repost, it should be done...

I don't know, I just hate starting to read in a thread and then I see those smartass people doing their mean little repost thing :(

Yeah, it's cool if you provide some content/opinion, then point out it is a repost.

but when there is 45 nefs saying "repost" in a row, it gets a little annoying..

wrong.
I think if you are the 15th or 20th person in the thread to say repost than it is like Paulson says...just a nef attempt.

Sometimes it is justified...like if someone right now made a post about "all your base...", I would expect every AT member to scream repost at them.

Agreed.

What's the purpose of telling someone that what they're posting has been posted before, anyways? Is it meant as some understanding that the subject is no longer open for discussion? Is it meant as some kind of putdown? Or is it like some kind of accomplishment for people to be proud of? Like some people used to be so proud of getting an I-B-T-L in before a thread got locked? I can understand if someone starts a thread and there's another thread on the same subject on the same page, but if not it seems like with over 90,000 registered members that it'd be a new subject for many.

Well, there is a limit to everything. If someone were to post that, I doubt anyone would say "repost". The reply would probably involve tracing an IP, finding the posters computer, and burning it. Maybe even breaking the fingers of the poster.

Personally, I always liked this post by a well known AT'er. Guess who...

Is your post always the last one in a thread? Many times have I experienced this.
After much careful thought, I have determined that
my posts are so brilliant and witty, that they cause readers,
new and old, to be caught in infinite loops of pure
enlightenment. This, in turn, disables a person`s ability to respond.
For those of us with this unique ability, and
for those of us aspiring to be Threadkillers,
I offer this thread as a support group.
Never again will you be alone!
Get those keyboards ready and respond.

many times the original thread has facts or viewpoints that are nice to see. :) If someone reposts an article about microsoft's new winxp coporate ed. crackdown, a link to the orginal thread would let me read more about it and get clarifications that have been previously posted.

You cannot always use the search function to find out if it's a repost, as the variety in the way it may be written could be different. I agree.

I am the shameless one that started the

R
E
P
O
S
T

in bold going down. Either that or I noticed someone bolded an R then I did the E.

Anyways. Yes it was funny maybe the first five times after that ANNOYING.

Just say repost(one person is all this takes) and link the thread that has been posted. If not say I think this has been posted search or I will.

Easy enough.

I agree with Lucky, if you not going to take the time to link the previous article and prove that the thread is indeed unworthy of anything other than pure neffishness, then don't waste others time by posting your unoriginal attempt at humor. I thought it was funny when I first seen the highlighted letters, but hell the same joke told over and over just starts to sound like drivel.

I must not read as many posts as most of you either, because the last 20-30 threads that I have seen labeled as reposts I have never seen.

Just my two zinc and copper slugs worth.

True.

Just so you know, it took every ounce of discipline in my body not to scream REPOST!, but I refrained.

:D
