IMO about 75% of the people that regularly bash NJ have probably never even been here. NJ has gorgeous areas, it's not all the Turnpike.

It may have some nice areas I?ve mainly only been to Moorestown (work travel) but you can't pump your own gas, you got the jug handles, and high taxes. What is there to like?

What is there to like about pumping your own gas? We still have some of the lowest gas of any populated state in the country.
Dude, I worked in the Philly area for 2 years. Upper Darby, Chester, South Philly are all such gorgeous areas. Every state has it's good parts and it's bad parts.Originally posted by: acemcmac
I live in PA. That makes me an expert on how much NJ sucks. Nothing good has come from your state since the telephone.

The same is true of all the other states that ignorant people bash. Some states just have bad perceptions, and NJ is one of them. It's going to be hard to change public opinion.

I don't know it just felt strange sitting in my car while some guy pumps my gas. I just want to get in pump it and get out (like other things I do)!

Bergen County is one of the richest counties in the entire US. If you are a car enthusiast, you will see tons of nice cars here. On the same day I got my brand new car, I saw an orange Lambo Murceliago (sp) and a yellow one. I must see an average of 2 of the new M5s here a day.
This part of NJ is definitely not one to be looked down on.

Same goes for Morris County. Drive through residential areas Chatham or Mendham and you'll see why.
Camden is about an inch across the water from the Philly ghettos, so it's understandable.Originally posted by: acemcmac

I dont disagree with you at all. NJ has a lot of really great looking parts, just like PA out in Lancaster county. NJ also has CAMDEN. YOU LOOSE.
It's not the scenery that I have the biggest problem with. It's the people. NJ drivers are TERRIBLE. The only car accident I was ever in involved a NJ driver who stopped in the middle of a clover leaf in NJ in the middle of the highway in a completley obstructed-view construction zone. NJ drivers are morons. No exceptions. Not to say all PA drivers are perfect, but there is no such thing as a good NJ driver.
