I am running a core I5 2310 (2.9-3.2ghz) 8 gig DDR3, Hd6870, corsair gs600, driving a 32in LCD tv at only 1360x768. I am currently playing tribes ascend, skyrim, and Diablo3. Naturally at this low res I can max out everything, turn on vsync and it just sits at a steady 60 fps no matter what I play. I bought a 24 in led 1080p screen for my wife's office a few months back that is getting almost no use, can my system maintain the same 60 fps I am use to at that resolution?

I have a 6870 and Skyrim won't play quite maxed out at 1080p. The other two should run fine though.

The biggest problem in Skyrim is the Shadows. It helps alot to turn them down from Ultra to High. It helped my GTX 570. No problems with my new GTX 670's though.

If it isn't a big hassle, I highly recommend using 1080p. As was mentioned, just turned down very specific options to maintain high frame rates.

Well first I would have to explain to my better half why her screen that she never even uses has been replaced with a thicker uglier looking tv. That alone gives me the creeps and then messing with all the settings and fraps to make sure I have my frames where I like them, its not worth it. What card could I upgrade to to get good performance at that res? 6950 enough? Maybe 448 core 560?

If you're willing to shell out $400, the 670 should be twice as fast as what you currently have.

Do u really need to spend 400$ to run a 1080p display at 60fps? If that's the case I think I will pass and wait for prices to drop.
