yes ive seen the specs, and was impressed, and ive seen the screen shots of supposed games and those gave mixed feelings

some looked insane

others looked no better than now

and some im not sure were even real....have they been using the UE3 technology on the xbox360? coz i saw some pictures from that UE3 tech demo on a site that had loads of screen shots from xbox360 games

ill will admit that the xbox360 is impressive....and the speed with which microsoft have progressed with their console is equally so.

but ive never been a fan of the xbox, there have never been any games i liked for it. i tried PG and PG2 and was unimpressed. ive never had a reason to buy xbox, any game that i thought id like was also available on PS2.

im a die hard GT4 fan, and i will buy the PS3 for GT5 alone regardless what anyone thinks, or how crap the PS3 is. apparently polyphony are looking to put in mega crash damage and have things like cars rolling over in big accidents...which will be great!

will you be waiting untill PS3 emerges before u buy xbox360?

xbox next is doing to the ps3 what ps2 did to dreamcast... outhype it, and (hopefully) make its sales horrible (although it certainly wont put sony out of business)

So let me get this straight.....you're getting excited about cars rolling over during crashes? If that's gonna be the big feature in that game I think they've run out of ideas.

I heard PS3s main advantages will be a Blu-Ray Drive and better hardware (if that's possible). I guess we'll find out next week. I've never been interested in playing any PS2 only games. If you like GT4 you should try Forza.

hmm i dont think so. There is no way that xbox can totaly corner out the PS3. Its the biggest competitor..and people who liek PS2 will obviosly look torwards the PS3 first. I personally will not buy a singe one of them untill they all come out and i can compare for myself.

Besides...even if the xbox outsells the PS3 in america..it sure as hell wont in japan.

GT is good, but PS3 who gives a crap. It's not coming out this year and nobody has any real specs for it or anything. It's coming later. That doesn't mean it will lose, but naturally nobody really cares about it this year. By the time it comes out the Xbox will have a nice library of games. I don't believe in the "who's won this generation" necessarily...for instance just because of xbox's better technology (original mind you) it may edge out the PS2 as the PS2 starts to die. The same may happen with PS3, but this year, or within the next 12 months PS3 is not going to be available.

I agree. I'm probably buying an XBox 360, as for the PS3 and Revolution, I'll consider buying one or the other when they come out if they are significantly better than the Xbox 360. Right now, they are looking to be 6-8 months late on the Xbox 360; if MS can get some excellent next-gen games out before either Sony or Nintendo launch they'll make a killing this generation.

too bad that library won't include some titles that have been pretty exclusively first on sony: MGS, FF, winning eleven, and the titles that SCEA/I makes (such as gran turismo)

even if xbox comes out first and its hardware is more advanced, i don't think people will just sell their PS2 as long as sony keep pushing out excellent games.

yes, playing games on my PC is much more fun than on my 50" HD

(and no i'm not going to disconnect my machine and plug it into the DVI port on the tv)

That was dropped a month or two ago. Standard DVD drive just like the Revolution.

No rule against hooking your PC up to your TV, this is the main use for my htpc actually, linked in sig ("Shoebox") - see the part of my above statement concerning computer literacy

Microsoft will never win the console war if it doesn't come out this year. Period. They know XMas is far too important. At this point in the game, they have no choice. It's already announced as Holiday 2005 on their website anyway.
