Enough already with the weird medication side effects!

Got back from my gastroenterology appointment and the physician prescribed me some Domperidone. He warned me that, in rare instances, this medication can induce lactation in men. Just what I'd need. This better be rare and not appear or I'll simply have to bottle my man milk and sell it on eeeebay.:frown:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domperidone

Or discontinue it right away.

hahahah

i have been getting dizzy lately. so i went to the doctor to find out why (no idea yet) but he prescribed me meclizine for it. guess what the side effects are? yeap dizziness! sigh..well thats better then lactation

I remember the meds I got from when I injured my kidney drunk had a warning "In rare and extreme cases may cause Kidney and Liver failure" 😕

Wow, I never knew that was possible. You learn something new every day

"The phenomenon of male lactation in humans has become more common in recent years due to the use of medications that stimulate a human male's mammary glands. Though human males have nipples, it is not so often understood that they also have mammary glands. Ordinarily the mammary tissue is low in volume and cannot be noticed. Under the appropriate hormonal stimulus -- the hormonal stimulus that nature provides to human females when they become pregnant and give birth -- the mammary glands of human males can also produce milk. The volume of milk produced is low relative to that of a lactating female."

The possibility of dennilfloss lactating and posting pics here.

My life is now complete!

Or how one of the side effects of antidepressants is suicide. 😕

I would just put it on my Corn Pops and call it a day.

* Goes to cupboard, grabs cereal, pours a bowl
* Checks fridge, no milk!
* lifts up shirt, squeezes left nipple, fills cereal bowl 1/3 the way
* squeezes right nipple, fills up just enough for a nice frothy warm bowl of cereal!

Yummy!

At least you can stop. Well, technically I could but even weaning myself off of these mood stabilizers would basically make me a very miserable zombie for a week from withdrawl (I've missed a dose a couple of times. Not fun). Odd thing is I've been on them for so long I don't even know if they're needed anymore. My brain's changed so much since I've been on them I have nothing to compare, but they haven't negatively impacted my life as far as I know, so I'll stick with the doc's recommendations for now.

I had sleeping pills once that listed side effects like this

Major:
Dizziness, sleepwalking, shallow breathing, hallucinations, etc
Minor:
Loss of feeling, Death

How the hell is DEATH a minor side effect??

Maybe if it is death followed by reanimation and zombiism, it would be listed as a major side effect.

So basically it could just have put "New Religion"?

Or how about medications that have very severe withdrawal symptoms, but they don't tell you that on the bottle or the papers.

Google : Effexor withdrawal.

Stuff is like quitting a major street drug.
