Okay, I'm having a biznatch of a time with this stupid Enlight 7230 case (I think specifically it's a 7237). I just got all my new computer stuff that I needed (MSI Turbo w/KT133A chipset, Duron 800, 128 megs Crucial PC133 CAS2 RAM) and then old stuff from my old comp (2 gig hd, 1 meg PCI card, 8x CD drive, etc, etc). I have the voltage switch on the back to 115 volts as it should be here in the US, and yes, I know the cord is getting power because I tried it with my monitor and it worked. When I try to turn it on, nothing happens. No fans spin, no beeps, zip, zero, nada. I'm getting rather pissed, so any help would greatly appreciated. I'm upgrading from a Cyrix 233 so you can imagine the joy I was anticipating from this purchase. :-/ At any rate, thanks for any help.

First, if you have a sound card, modem, etc. installed, yank them out. Set up your mobo with just the CPU, RAM and video card installed and then boot up. You won't be able to go anywhere without a hard drive but at least you know you're getting power and that you're on the right track.

If that works install your drives (HDD, FDD & CD-ROM).

If it doesn't work, check to be sure the mobo isn't shorting out somewhere on the case. (My guess is that's what's happening.) It's a process of elimination so be sure the CPU & RAM are seated properly, etc.

Still nothing working. :-/ I'm thinking my PSU is shot. I could be wrong, though. Wouldn't be the first time.

If I had a spare I would. ;-)

Would it be 'acceptable' to test it using the 200 watt PSU in my mom's Dell machine? It's ATX so it'll fit and all.

Did you try firing up the mobo outside the case yet? If not, try that with just the RAM and video card to see what happens. I was up against this with my Duron system a couple hours ago... long story short, it had something touching the underside of the motherboard and grounding it to the case.

Yeah, I did. I took it completely out of the case and was holding it in my hand while trying to power up. Still nothing. :p

Found a way to test the PSU and it's working. This is really weird: I was poking around with a screwdriver trying to connect different things where all the LEDs and the speaker, and switches plug in, and well, if I one of the connectors that is supposed to be for the speaker and one that is supposed to be for the power supply switch (I'm not sure which they were), well, power comes on and my motherboard boots up. Only I can't turn it off, even with that same connection or the one that is supposed to be the power switch. :-/ Is my motherboard screwed or what?? Thanks for any help..
