enlarging the size of a pic?

so lets say I have a picture on my pc, that is about 300kb. I want to enlarge the size to about 800 kb. Is there a way to do it? I have photoshop 7, and also, well, microsoft paint.

The reason I want to do it is I just got the new MSN messenger, and they have a spot to put a display picture. The picture I want, which is 300kb, is small, and I want a bigger version of it to make it cover more room, and clearer.........

is there a way to do it?

Nope. Well, you can make the file size bigger if you want, but you can't make the picture larger without making it blurry, and there's no way to make a picture clearer.

No, you can enlarge it, but it takes a while and lots of elbow grease to sharpen the image without messing slaughtering the picture.

Just resize it to 200%; now, each one pixel will be represented by four.

you can use something like photoshop to resize images to make them bigger. or you can search shareware.com or something for a jpg image resizer (look for a freeware version)

Genuine Fractals does a kick ass job of enlarging photos. But it's priced for pros.



In photoshop there's probably bicubic resample and other such algorithms.

300kb is a large picture to me, is your a$$ that big?
