I thought about that but i dunno...Newegg has listings for EL also so i don't think it is the same but it looks like there is no difference performance wise.
Can anyone reccomend better ram than this in a 2x1GB kit for ocing?
The pc3200 platinum is not an overclocking set. They are meant to be run at super low timings near stock speed. They max out at around 220FSB with 2.5-3-3-7 timings. If you want to overclock more than 220FSB and save some money get these. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146970
The pc4000EB is also a great overclocker if you have the money for it
I have the pc3200 platinum and I like my 2Gig's worth. I decided I would just use dividers to keep the low timings, since that seems the important thing for the A64's. I used to have some Redline, but I got tired of using 3.3V to max it out. As long as I have ~15MHz play (200 to 220), I figure I can get a divider pretty close to whatever CPU speed I max out at.
I saw somebody's sig that said he was using the Patriot PC3200 (PDC2G3200LLK) at 2-3-2-5 (it was a X2 3800+ @ 10x245) which I think is darn good for memory that cost about 260$ for 2GB
