This seems incredibly illogical. I've never even seen anyone in my life call someone a nig*** to another's face in public to a stranger. This would be an exceptionally rare event that would be reacted to with general disgust. And that shit IS against the law if you are threatening, harassing, etc.

I always see these hypothetical situations presented by English heads (via internet only of course) as a way to deface Americans (or vindicate their prejudice), like we are all belligerent over weight racists who have no class. All cultures have stupid assholes. No culture's stupid assholes are better or worse than other culture's stupid assholes.

As an american who has been to europe dozens of time I have seen it happen all too often. Even when americans travel to other states we act like assholes. If we are from the north we make fun of the south and west, if we are from the west we make fun of the east and south. We are the most racist country, the most uncouth, the most obnoxious country in the world. Man, even when I was id the ghettoest parts of dublin they had more respect than us.

Are you ACTUALLY inferring that no snooty brits exist?
Uh, no, I'm not. To quote the beginning of your other logically defective post, "This seems incredibly illogical."

I'm inferring that Outhouse may be lazily trading on the cliched and hoary generalization you also seem enamored with, that brits are snooty.

Btw, the fuller beginning of your previous post also ironically suffers from basic logic fail:

This seems incredibly illogical. I've never even seen anyone in my life call someone a nig*** to another's face in public to a stranger.
Just because you, in your limited life experience, haven't seen anyone do this does NOT make it "illogical" that it occurred. You may also have never personally experienced a woman saying yes to a date, but I assure you from mine that it has happened, as has someone calling angrily calling a stranger a nig*** in public.

I have personally witnessed this at least twice. Neither ended particularly well.

to many fucks to be a believable Texan. I've met my fair share of Texans and they do not drop the F bomb anywhere near as much as us Californians and even then this is way outside the norm for even us. On my worst days I don't say fuck as much and I'm a f bomb dropping fuck.

Pretty much what the story in the OP is doing about Americans...not that there aren't some out there that do those things but the over the top portrayal is, well, over the top

Well, yeah . . . except that I've lived in England (and other parts of Europe) and had far fewer experiences of meeting "snooty brits", or "rude French" for that matter -- not that some of both don't exist -- than I did of finding myself way too close to rude, ignorant, deeply embarrassing American tourists.

Anecdotal, but there you are.

But, yeah, the OP's was a particularly over-the-top incident. Doesn't mean it didn't happen largely as portrayed, though.

Let me just add that all the time I was abroad, I vigorously defended the living fuck out of the United States of America against the also ignorant generalizations some tried to put past me.

As I said in the OP, I don't think that this guy is representative of all Americans, having met a fair few it is clear that he isn't, but when people from the US of A come over here, they don't adhere to the "when in rome" motto that I was brought up with. They come over expecting that everything should be like America, although america is the blueprint for how to live and everyone else is doing it wrong.

I had to explain to a woman at the Cinema I work at, that we don't take dollars...

As I say this isn't the case for all americans, but it happens more with americans that it does with other nations.

You won't get the morons that we have in the UK coming to the US any time soon as most of them are chavs that can't afford to go to places other than malia or Ibiza.
