The fact that a country has to legislate a "Public Order Act" and has security guards in KFC's is really telling about the country as a whole.

The rest of the story is/would be typical of what would happen in the US for a similar situation.

nm, beaten by Corwin.

My statement about Hal900 (NeckBeard) being an anti-american retard still stands though.

Security guards in KFC are rare, just in the really shit parts of London.

I think you misunderstood the point I was making, it's OK.

“What the fuck are you going to do? Isn’t this a fucking free country? I know my fucking rights, and you’ve got no fucking reason for fucking kidnapping me! Now let me get the fuck out of these hand-fucking-cuffs, before I fuck you up.” My strategy for getting him to swear less was clearly less than efficient. As his already lubricious language took a swift segue down Tourettes terrace, I decided to change tack.

“Sir, are you threatening me?” I asked, as light-hearted as I could.

“Fucking right I am, I’ll fuck you up you little bastard. What are you gonna do? Shout at me a little? You’re not the police, You haven’t even got a fucking gun, you gutless pussy.” I didn’t have the heart to share with him that, to my best anatomical knowledge, vaginas didn’t come with their own intestines, and so that his deep blue barrage of foul language was inaccurate at best.

i dont know anyone who talks like that, unless drunk. and the writer made sure he used alot of alliteration making it quite unrealistic, so, nice piece of fiction.

I thought you posted it for feedback and commentary? Or would you prefer censorship?

EDIT: Sorry, meant to say do you just prefer to get responses that agree with you and no oposing views?

If anyone is trolling its you for continuously starting threads on the same topics. Topics that you know will get folks riled up, on a forum that is 95% US users. You'll continue to have your pride in your country, and in some aspects you should. This is not one of them. A word by itself is not racism.

I watch a ton of UK television and you guys throw the term "ginger" around like its a normal word, when in reality its just as racist or at the very least, inflammatory and derogatory. There are a lot of people that could just as easily be offended by that word as any other.

This wasn't intended to rile anyone up, I was having trouble explaining why we have the laws we have in the tram thread the other day, this did it far better than I could so i thought I'd post it, as there seemed to be a fair amount of interest in the subject in the other thread :)

Yeah we hate gingers, if they ever get together in a group we'd have problems. Bloody gingers.

It's an interesting argument, I think the reason they are not protected, is people don't ACTUALLY prejudice anything against them, unlike racists or homophobes etc.

I hear "ginger" thrown around all the time...

As do I, I throw it around. I do it as an endearing term though, as I have quite a few red haired friends.

But I live in America, where I can throw around the N word too if I want. Black people do all day every day. I can sell Nazi plates on eBay if I want. Any Nazi memorabilia (which is often collected by WW2 collectors and not just by Nazi's any way) is OK. I can sell it for any reason. KKK insignias? Sold.

In the UK its not. No Nazi anything can be sold for any reason. The "N" word can't be said for any reason. Whats funny is that ginger is OK. That is hypocrisy at its finest right there.

People will argue that its not the same thing. It is.

Of course you do, idiot. That was my point. Its said all over UK television all day every day.

1) You can buy nazi stuff over here
2) Two black people could say the N word to each other as a term of endeerment.

1) It might be other countries, but I know there are several throughout Europe that don't allow it. ie. Germany, Belgium, France, etc. And they don't just ban Nazi stuff, its all racism related stuff.
2) Not on UK television they can't

Or is there some dumb show called "watershed" that ends at 9?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watershed_(television) Sigh.... Try harder.

United Kingdom
According to Ofcom, the watershed on free-to-air television in the UK is between 21:00 and 05:30[8], while premium or pay-per-view services are allowed to start the watershed at 20:00. Until 1 October 2011, the watershed closed at 05:30 for the premium channels just like it still does for the free-to-air channels. But on 1 October 2011, the watershed rules for the premium channels had been relaxed and it now ends at 06:00 for the premium channels. Programmes that are rated 15 cannot be shown outside this period. However, some 12-rated shows can be shown before 21:00, such as The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Doctor Who, and Futurama. There is no watershed on PIN protected channels (such as Sky Movies). On this type of channels, trying to view offensive material before 20:00 will require a PIN.
