The NHS is stockpiling bodybags to cope with a no deal Brexit shortage, ministers have admitted.

A letter from health minister Stephen Hammond to a fellow MP, giving assurances to one of his constituents, confirmed the macabre course of action, in a bid to offer reassurance that the NHS will continue to operate despite the disruption.

The letter lists a number of medical products, consumables and equipment being stockpiled to cope with Britain crashing out without a deal.

So yeah, thats happening.
Maybe if they come up short they can just dump people in the English Channel?

They should clarify that they’re stockpiling not because they expect more people to die, but rather because bodybags will be difficult to acquire post no-deal Brexit.

Lol this. It's similar to why all the major tech vendors were taking additional haircuts to get Purchase Orders cut before the end of last quarter in the US. Because our tariffs were going to void a lot of viable POs once they kicked in.

With Brexit, there's going to be a lot of products that are going to be a lot more difficult to affordably acquire. Sounds like body bags are one of them.

Or they are preparing for the fact that people may die because of a lack of food and medicine?

...plus the fact that they are stockpiling various medical supplies. Body bags just happens to be one of those items so, yeah--that leads.

Type 1 diabetics are also hording supplies. As one myself, I would certainly do the same (despite assurances that there definitely probably won't be any issues).

This shit(Brexit) is gonna ripple through the rest of the EU too ... Add to that shit that is going on with Italy vs France atm... and Poland, Hungary etc. Trumpism is retarding its way throughout the map... Vlad is surely having his best 3 years yet.
It needs to stop.

Right, it's just like Y2K. Er, except with Y2K, we had teams of programmers working for months to change the code that would crash. I was one of them, albeit in a completely non-critical area (timeshare company!). Brexit has had teams of managers coming up with absolutely nothing, and hordes of civil servants mobilizing to get ready but without actual marching orders yet (hey, there are a few weeks to go)!

I suppose it'll also be like Climate Change. Do nothing, and hope for the best! Why bother planning for the worst, it might not happen!

You might want to tell that to all those British autoworkers who voted Leave to protect their jobs, and are now being laid off because of Brexit.

I think the real test is what happens to the UK economy 6 to 12 months after.
Even if the UK economy were to completely collapse (which it won't of course but even if), Ugly would still deny Brexit played any role in it.
The only thing these clowns are smart at is telling lies.

Eh? Theres no way that its not going to be a massive negative for the British economy.
What is Ugly is trying to say that even if you're unemployed with no prospects, it'll still be worth it for the sun to rise on a British isle of only Christian white people.
