Engineers taking EIT/FE and PE certifications?

What are they worth anyway? In Civil Engineering I know it's helpful to have, but I'm an Electrical Engineering major. Is this something I should get ready to take my junior or senior year? I don't see a lot of job listings requiring certifications for EE's. Anyone?
 
I guess it would depend on the employer and what is required by the job. Where I work all of the engineers are registered, we prepare plans/specs for construction projects and they need to be stamped by a registered discipline engineer.
