Engineering Spec Graphic Card Recomendations

We're looking at upgrading a few engineering systems we have here with new video cards, they are going to be used for high end 3D work using SolidEdge and SolidWorks program. So far I think that the NVidia Quadro FX line would be best, but does anyone have any good recomendations for a mid-to-high range (eg. Quadro FX1700) that will give good value for the money?
