<< I feel your pain... my final exam in physics is Wednesday, and here 60% of the people in the class pass... it's not that we aren't bright, its that the school doesn't believe that everyone should pass, sorta like evolution... it sounds bad, but it's better then cluttering the jobfield with cookie cutter graduates. >>
That's not a new concept, been going on at colleges for decades. Especially notorious in programs like Pre-Med, etc. They always need a class or two to weed out the lessers.
As for the 60% pass rate, that is a bit stiff, but I can relate. One of my almas mater had a grading scale where 70 was the lowest passing grade, vs. typical state univ. where that 70 would be a C (granted a low C).
