Engine Swap: stage 3 is complete (with pics!)

We got the motor assembled and in the car today. Unfortunately my old flywheel has one of the clutch bolt holes stripped, so we couldn't finish the project. We still have to put in the tranny (I'm going to get a new flywheel tomorrow), the radiator, and a few small miscellaneous items.

The motor feels much more at home here than on the stand


this is one of the bolts that the motor was hanging from the hoist by

looking across the garage. You can see some of the "toys" they have there. You, cant however see the boat and the jeep that are sitting on top of the two drive-on lifts in the garage (the blue things at the top of the frame are the ramps that the boat trailer and jeep are sitting on)

engine swaps are always sweet.. especially V8s.

me myself is looking to get a 4.4l all alloy, 32valve V8 in a e30 BMW (2500lbs). won't be anytime soon though.

At least that's what it looks like. Haven't done racing in a number of years so my memory might be off. One thing I do remember very clearly is that Cadillac engines will 0wn anything made by Ford and Chevy hands down.

my iroc's at the diff/tranny place right now, they're gonna have a look at that and tell me what the story is. it could still be cheap to fix, so i'm crossing my fingers.

what are the specs of your new engine? how much did it end up costing you?
