engine oil milky

I jad been working on my truck quite a bit trying to figure out a vacumm leak, and there was one hose I had to unplug each time and it had coolant, the coolant always spilled right over engine, next to the throttle body but not onto it, the water would most likely land where the underside of the intake manifold is.

I called the mechanic and told him what I had been doing and he asked me if I had recently overheated the motor which I haven't. he said to drain the oil and drive it a few days and check to see if it gets milky again, he said it might be possible that all that spilled coolant got into the engine and the coolant is now gone from the outside of the motor.

What do you guys think? I'm looking to maybe drain the oil today or tomorrow and try it out since it already has like 4K miles on that oil. Rotella 15W40 triple Protection

Also symptoms of a blown headgasket.. but I'd suggest doing what the mechanic suggested first.

won't hurt to do what the mechanic says. Just put on the cheapest filter and the cheapest motor oil.

Yeah, give it a good drain, flush and fill. Recheck later and see if it gets milky again.

My father warned me of this when i was buying my Mercedes. Luckily i didn't have THIS problem. Sounds like a head gasket to me as well.

Damn, we shall find out tomorrow when I got to the mechanic, hes gonna do some leak test or w/e

We drained the oil today and used some cheap valvoline oil to do a sort of test run, we drove it msot of the day and the water level didnt seem to loeer any and the oil looked good as new. We figured there was about 2 quarts of water in my engine oil we drained out.

Were these lines with coolant for a heated throttle body?

My 4.6L cars only have an oil capacity of 6 quarts. If yours is similar and one third of that were coolant you're in serious trouble.

Any water leaking into your oil will cause it to get a white foam on it, the oil is then compromised, and needs to be replaced. A flush would be preferable, but you could just do a couple cheap oil changes on your own (draining the oil will not get all the water, so I would not be surprised at all if it got milky again). If changing the oil does not improve the condition, you most likely have a coolant leak into your oil system, cracked block or head gasket would be the primary culprits.

That's entirely too much water. I'd recommend some proper testing and not using the vehicle until the source of the contamination is determined.

2 quarts is too much for accidental contact, tow it to a mechanic, or expect to replace the engine
