Could it be true!?

Seriously though, what a coup would that be if Microsoft swooped in to make the Xbox 360 the premier digital content hub -- with or without HD DVD -- right underneath Sony's nose at the eve of their PlayStation 3 launch?

i starting thinking about this about the time they announced the HD DVD player. now if they just fix the minor reliability problems (my condolences jbourne), we will have a bigger winnar.

CONFIRMED!!!

Starting November 22, Microsoft will be expanding its Xbox Live service to include high-definition movie downloads as well as standard and high-definition television content.

WOOT!!!

Never going to happen. Some HD movies are 10gb+. They'd have to stream them, or charge as a PPV type plan, where the movie automatically gets deleted after the period expires.

If they did have a larger HD, you're still limited to anywhere from 20-40 movies.

They could possibly do 30-minute or 1-hour TV episodes, but movies are probably too large.

I seriously doubt it's true. It's funny how some random person says "it would be cool if..." and the next day 1000 websites are reporting on it.

This may have something to do with the DirecTV 360 blade rumor that popped up back in March.

Yeah, we haven't heard anything about that rumor in a while. I wonder what happened to it...

According to Shsibae (huh?), over 1000+ hours of video will make its way onto Live for rental at about $4 a go, or for purchase (at an unstated price)

probably mainly aiming at a PPV style, with expiration dates.

Microsoft is great they keep adding feature to keep the XBO360 alive

I highly doubt that they can do it. Its going to take let say a regular 1.5mbp or 3mbp user a long time.

The DirectTV rumor sounds interesting but we need more info

If you download it without extra spcial features, just the movie, how many GB is that ?

i'd like to see how this pans out. I wonder what everyone is going to say once they realize they have to wait 4 hrs before they can watch their movie.

as long as they dont have to move, i bet most people won't care. especially if you can play games while movies are downloading.
