Eng-Tips kicked me out :|

I was posting some questions to mechanical engineers here, and a few people suggested I sign up at eng-tips.com and get some answers there. So I did.

A week later, I can't sign in, and I find out the two threads I started were deleted. :|

I used the contact form the page points me to and they don't respond. :|

Did I forget to pay the bribe or something?

Huh, that is weird. I never had problems with them (tek-tips).

What did you say in the posts?

In a thermodynamics forum I asked about the efficiency of heating water into steam compared to heating air, and in a mechanical forum I asked if there was a gearing mechanism that could pause the movement of a rod 2 steps of a 3 step cycle.

I was getting good answers. Next thing I know, I can't login. I just found out that the threads themselves were deleted. 🙁

yup, the manditory give before you take rule... I remember that one-

Their AUP doesn't state anything about that. They basically have 2 rules - don't advertise or recruit, and don't post homework questions. Maybe they treated me like I was some high school kid. 😕

yah, that's f-ed up.. i'll try out the forum for you if you give me the questions you want to ask so i can just cut and paste..

That's strange...I registered on their forums for help with a structural concrete project I was working on a couple months ago. I haven't been back to the site until now, but my login (cookie) still works fine and my posts are still there.

😕
