Ok, my friend has a conduit running down the side of his house. This has a standard ethernet/cat5 cable. It goes from a PCI LAN NIC to a hub. the cat5 cable is 100' long. When he plugged them in, he gets light showing a connection . however, the light flickers* on the hub, and the computer doesn't even recognize the connection.
*like it's a bad connection, not like theirs traffic.
