Enermax Vs Sea Sonic?

Well... Everybody has subjective levels of noise tolerance.

I would suggest you try your Enermax first and see if its noise levels are acceptable to you.

If it is not, then think about getting the Seasonic.

HTH!

What I would like is the only way you could hear it is by putting my head right next to the case.

Like I was in Compusa and they had an HP PC running. And the only way I could hear the power Supply was putting my ear right next to the case. Anyone know what kind of Power Supplys HP uses?

Silent PC Review's review of the Seasonic S12-430 HERE.

Their review of the Enermax 475 HERE.

The Enermax ramps up to 32dBA/1m once it reaches the middle of its operating range (with 250 watts load).

The Seasonic ramps up to 26dBA/1m once it reaches the same load levels.

32dBa is about 4 times louder than 26dBa (the decibel scale is logarithmic) in terms of sound energy (I might not have converted the scale right though). How noticible it is, it's subjective of course.

I would definitely try your Enermax first and see if it's good enough. Consider the Seasonic only if you find the noise noticibly annoying.

HTH.

Seasonic can't be beat when it comes to noise, the also make some of the best PSU's in the industry. Having said that, Enermax is still very good, and quiet. Odds are something else in your case will still be substantially louder then either a Enermax or Seasonic PSU.
