So I finally saved up enough last Nov. money to buy new parts for a computer. My cousin (who built it) bought me the 400 watt Enermax Whisper PSU. Just yesterday. I was putting in the 120gig 8meg cache WD hd from Dell(thx to hotdealsforum),but I had to move around some of the 12v's to make it reach. When I powered up, I noticed smoke flying from the fan, luckily I had the case still open and pulled the power, but some of the 12v wires of the PSU got BBQ'ed. I traced the problem back to the floppy power connector, and that wire along with two of the 12v's are totally charred. Right now I'm going ballistic trying to find out what the Enermax warranty is b/c nothing about the 24month warranty is listed on the website or manual.
I'm pretty sure the PSU is fine, probably a bad wire or connector, but my disk drive along with the wires are toast. I've read about old school PSU mod's where ppl just attached new or additional 12v connectors to their PSU's. Anybody know about the Enermax warranties in the US or PSU repairs?
Thanks for any help.
