A few months ago I built a new pc: AMD64 3700+, DFI Lanparty, Corsair 2gigs, Segate 320, Nvidia 7950 GT 512, etc. About a month or so the psu (Enermax noisetaker II 485w) started making a high pitch noise every so often for a few days. Then the pc would not boot up but the high pitched noise was still there. I send the psu to newegg and they sent me a new one. Well the same thing happened to this one; high pitch noise and the pc wont boot up. So, needless to say this one is also going back (I already got an RMA). My question is what would cause the psu do go bad that fast? I've been building my own rigs for over 10 years and never had a psu go bad. I have also been using Enermax psu's for a pretty good while without having any issues with them. I would like to get some suggestions on a different psu just incase the one they send me also dies on me.

Thank you.
PS:The computer works just fine when I swap the psu with a different one.

Maybe the PSU isn't the problem, maybe something else is causing the PSU to do that. Like a bad mobo, or a short someplace.

Corsair makes good units (seasonic built). I have one right now. But for that system you could get a Enhance 500W unit which while not being in the same league as Seasonic, Corsair, etc is still a good unit.
