Enermax Liberty?

Well I guess I might be in the market for a new PSU. Those Enermax 500W and 620W units appear to be fairly worth the cost on paper, and many people have said good things about them.

So what is this about them blowing up after a few months of use? I see it alot on forums and on Newegg reviews?

Well I am uncertain if Enermax makes their own PSU but have heard a few companies do not. Either way they all get/make a bad batch from time to time. I don't think its anything to worry about. Although not a Liberty, I've owned a Enermax Noisetaker 485watt and its lasted me through my o/ced Athlon 64,x2 3800+(used for a short time) and now am using it on my o/ced C2D system and is solid as a rock. It's right at 2 years old now. If I was to buy a PSU today I would likely look into another Enermax. But hopefully I will still be able to use this PSU for a long time to come. I don't see me having to get another PSU untill my next complete upgrade at least.

I've got a Liberty 400W and 500W. I've had both for quite a while.
They have never given me anything but excellent service.

Makes no difference at all if you buy a PSU that is made by a different vompany or from the company itself!!!

For example Seasonic has made PC Power & Cooling for years....yet there was a time in Seasonics pasts when all you heard about was PC Power & Cooling. Slowly but surely Seasonic got into the market with there own brand name quality PSU`s!

Then you look at Antec which has also been made and still is I believe by Seasonic....well we aslk the question what happenned to Antec since Seasonic also makes PC Power & Cooling.
Both have very different levels of quality and workmanship coming from the same company making both....

Just because a company contracts out to make a PSU for another company does not mean you can find a PSU of like price and quality from the company itself!!

It is good to know who actually does make the PSU.
The critereia for buying a PSU should not be IMO - so and so builds brandX for the brand X people so I will go ahead and by a PSU from the company that is building the PSU for brand X!!
