Enermax Liberty Help

Just got my Enermax Liberty 620W from Newegg. I have not yet plugged any of the modular wires into the motherboard yet, or even the 24 pin power supply. I just plugged the power cord into the back of the Liberty and turned it on to see if it would work.

Plugged it in, powered it on, and nothing. No fan, noise, nothing. Does this mean the PSU is DOA, or do you need to have the PSU hooked up to the mobo before that can be determined????

Please help, because if this is DOA, that will make RMA number 2 for my very first build. This sucks.....

It's not DOA and I highly recommend you have a friend that knows whats he's doing to help you out on your first build.

Okay, I don't have any friends that can help me out with my first build or I would have called them asking if my PSU was DOA. That's why I posted here asking for help. Would you mind explaining to me how you know the PSU is not DOA?

It's simple. If you don't have the 24pin cable connected you can't turn on the PSU since the soft switch is grounding a wire in there.

Maybe read this guide first.
