I went with the 500W version and I'm really impressed with it. 😀
* Good solid quality construction
* Nice quiet operation
* Modular cables with sturdy connectors

Spend the few extra bucks and get the 500W model.

I have found that when you try to save money, you usally wind up wasting money !!!

OP doesn't need a 500 watt power supply. The Enermax Liberty 400W is a hell of a power supply, with 22A, max on each 12v rail. This model is plentiful of clean, stable power; especially for the fact that the rig being proposed is based off of Conroe. I'm sure Conroe is less of a power hog than the previous Prescott and Cedar Mill (Which require a minimum of 16A on one of the 12v rails)

I have this exact Liberty power supply myself. If you see in my signature, my rig composes of a CPU that is more power hungry than the Conroe, and a 6800GS, which to my understanding, isn't quite as power friendly as the 7900GT, that is being considered. The 400w Liberty does just fine with my rig; stable, clean & quiet power with absolutely no issues.

The 400 watt'r will do just fine, and then some.

No thanks dont want a 1900xt. great card but had it before and didnt like how hot it runs.

it should still be fine, just don't increase the core voltage too much on the cpu. A vmod on the gpu will take the psu to the limit and you'll need aftermarket coolers on everything.

False, a 400 watt Liberty will have plenty of headroom for overclocking both his CPU and GPU.

Already got a 7900GT KO with a VF900 and OCZ ramsinks 😛

As for the E6300 ill use the stock one for now and see how good it is lol.

sweet, the architechture of the c2d cpus allow it to be a very low power consuming, low heat producing chip anyway. You might get 2.8 stock, 2.9 possibly.

ok i just switched to h20 and was thinking i might get a new psu.
