Enermax fan and temperature controller

I just bought a temperature controller, and i do not know where to place the wire. Should i place it in between the cpu and heatsink, or on the side of the heatsink.
 
I have the same eneremax one i think is it the silver one with a groove at the top? It has two thermometers and 6 fan controllers I put them next to my cpu and on my video card.
