Does anybody know what the fan control feature
is suppose to do the on the FC-model ?

Plugging the three pin fan harness into a mobo header allows the board to shut off the rear psu fan in some low power states, and to monitor fan rpm. The harness must be plugged in somewhere for the fan to run at all.
