Enermax EG365P-VE 350W PSU $46 shipped

I'm wavering on this... from what I've read it only gives 185W 12v+5v... The sparkle 350w, on the other hand gives 220 on the 12v+5v rails. Anyone know how much louder the sparkle is?

Thx!

Is this the low-noise model? If so, I'll get one. I'm tired of hearing my computer's high-pitched whine. I already ordered about 6 low-noise fans, but this power supply is just making the whole rig rumble. I'd sure like to get this if it's really quiet.

She's a quiet 'un...I just got one a few weeks ago. But then, my last two PCs were powered by jet engines.

But seriously folks, you won't be disappointed. The Enermax is one of the best, and quietest, PSUs around.

And this price cannot be beat! (I paid $54.50 + tax at a local computer show.)

Steve

I bought a Sparkle and returned it and got an Enermax with the Fan Control Whisper thingy. The Sparkle was fairly loud, loud enough to hear over 3 IBM SCSI drives (IBM's are kinda noisy themselves).

<< how reliable are refurbished power supplies? >>

You can buy a brand new one for like $5.00 more. I'd just go with a new one.

You can't go wrong with an Enermax... Its well worth the money. They are very stable and will power anything you need, unless you're running a server or something of the sort.

Basically, your temps should go down about 3-4 degrees with this, cause of the properly designed dual fan system. Noise will also go down. I think the 431w one is a better deal though.

I bought one of these to replace my Antec 300 watt. It came in today and it works great. My 5v rail is much better with the Enermax EG365P-VE (only .02v dip from no load 4.89v to 100% load 4.87v) - My temp at 100% load is a degree or 2 cooler now (love those fans). I have it in an Antec SX830 case with a Shuttle AK31A that I picked up referbed from Newegg also at $49. I'm running an AXIA T-Bird 1000 at 1400 1.71v at 43.5c full tilt.

It came wraped in bubble wrap with no accessories or anything. (no power cord) not like I didn't have several cords lying around anyway. I'd buy it again. This is my second Enermax 350 watt. I have one on my 8K7A 1.4 Ghz also.

Anybody have any dealing with DealsDirect.com? They're shaky at ResellerRatings.com, but they quote an Enermax EG465P-VE (FC) (that's the Whisper model, with fan control) for $62.97 ... about $20 less than even newegg.

OTOH, if it's too good to be true...you know the rest.

Steve

This is for Steve0,

I just bought an Enermax EP465-VE (FMA) from DealsDirect.com. Ordered on Mon. March 18th and received it on Sat. March 23rd. It came USPS (they are in Canada and this is the cheapest and easiest), factory sealed, brand new. The one I ordered was $64.99+$10=$74.99 and it works great. I like the automatic fan control from the motherboard (FMA), when things warm up it raises the fan speed auto and back down when things cool off. Not a bad deal when you shop around, great quality PS.

Later...

I bought that power supply from dealsdirect also. I think they may get them cheaper because both companies are in Canada, and there may be some sort of deal going on there. I recieved it promply from this company, with no problems. Seems like many of the complaints about this company from ressellerratings are from them running out of stock on power supplies and delays of shipments as a result. I had no problem at all. I consider the Enermax from Dealsdirect one of the best values out there.

UPDATE: The 350 watt Enermax I purchased from Newegg died after less than 12 hours running. It won't boot the machine any longer. (spins only one of my fans really slowly) So much for a bargain. I think I would buy new if I did it again. Good thing I installed it before my 30 days were up.

uh-oh... I installed mine yesterday, but no problems so far. I leave my machine running 24/7, so if there is a problem hopefully it will show up within 30 days. Thanks for the heads-up!

if you buy something from deal direct be careful about returns. Many people say they dont get them back, so just hope your stuff works when you get it. Also enermax does not rma there stuff like many manufacturs do, you have to deal with the company you bought it from.

Just got my 431w refurb enermax and installed it. Using it now. Fine, fine power supply. I really don't think this thing has ever been used! I used a flashlight and peered all through the slots and fan blades and I didn't see a speck of dust. Furthermore this is not oem. It came in a retail box with an instruction manuel, cord, 3 pin to molex adapter and bubble wrapped. +3.3=3.41, +5.0=5.03, +12.0=12.52. My temps have dropped 4f and I have an Alpha 8045, 120mm 120v blowhole fan and 1 92mm Sunon side fan, and 1 80mm front case fan. The mother board controls the rear fan of this power supply by plugging a 3 pin plug into the power supply fan pins on the motherboard. This thing also has a thermister on a wire. Anybody know where to place this "in the case"? It's supposed to control the fan speeds.

HocusFocus, you lucky s.o.b.! You got the "FC" version of this PSU, didn't you? (Was the box red and did it say "Whisper" on the front?) Very nice deal!

I placed my order for the EG465P-VE this afternoon. Maybe I'll be as lucky as you. $59 shipped is hot!

Yeah! It's a kinda purplish looking box. Says "Whisper" on all four sides and on the top. Enermax offers a 24mo warranty according to the box but New Egg puts 30day and refurbished on the packing slip. It has a red dot on the description: EG465P-VE(FC). I'd have to say this is brand new. I still don't know where the thermister goes. Should I try around the base of the heatsink? It's just dangling down around my memory right now. I'm real pleased with this unit.
Thanks ajf3,
HF
By the way, this came from New Egg not Access Micro. I saw you over in Brag & Moan.

hmm..got my newegg refurb unit today too. EG365P-VE (FC) Doesn't look refurbed to me. Looks brand new, no dust anywhere. Came in a retail box bubble wrapped with the cables tied up. Also got the manual, unopened screws, power cord, and unopened case badges. Well..looks good to me so far..but the final test is if it works... 🙂
