One of the fans has an external power connector I'm told, do you need to use it (Both my top fan headers are used for my CPU it's a dual fan heatsink)? Will it run ok if I don't plug this in?

Is the 451P any louder than the 351P? Or are they pretty much the same volume level.

Is the 451 fairly quiet?

I'd like to get the 430Watt, but my current 450watt is fairly loud (no obscenely so, but I'm going on a quiet down my PC quest).

"Is the 451 fairly quiet?"

Yes, it is very quiet. The fans usually don't go over 2000 RPM.

The fan connector is just for monitoring, both fans work without it connected.

I have this PS, and it is one of the best things I bought for my system. You will see if you get one, they are a very high quality component. It was a little expensive when I got it, but you figure this one component runs your whole system, so why skimp?
