Enermax/Coolergiant 480W PSU - 49.90 @ Fry's B&M

Model EG485P-VHB, ATX v1.3 - reduced from $98.00

S.J. Fry's B&M had about three left after I bought one. It's one of the best power supplies you'll find for under $50. It's only 20 pin, so for those of you who are planning to pick up a newer 24-pin motherboard, you'll have to buy an adapter (The Fry's employee says they carry one, although I didn't know they existed).

Link to specifications.....

Outpost LinkBtw - It says 400W, but it really should say 480W....

I'm dumb....I checked a bunch of websites before posting to confirm it was a good deal. Just forgot to include Outpost as one of those sites =/

I have the red version of this PSU and it is very solid. 3-year warranty on it, too.

It's plenty quiet, though not silent.

The pictures doesn't show it, but it has two 80mm fans (front and back), and then the Nidec blower that is designed to suck heat away from the CPU and exhaust it out the back of the PSU through a corridor/tube that never lets that warmer air touch any of the PSU's components.

The 20 -> 24 pin adapters can be found at many places online, from $3 - $12. Consensus is that you're better off with a true 24-pin PSU, especially if overclocking...if that's what you need.

I looked but it seems like the resale on these on ebay is even lower...I know we're not supposed to post ebay deals but, you know, =p

i picked up a new one for $50 at my local fry's. it seems like a very solid unit and the cables definitely seem long enough for my lian li pc-7089. i don't know how loud this is, but i'll update you guys when i install it later tonight.

Is it heavy or light in weight?
