Enermax All inOne

Wow, that's quite a few reviews mentioning burnout. More people would tend to complain rather than post that they are satisfied by the power supply, but it's still more than an Antec 550 for example. Looks like QC is not what it ought to be. I'm raising my fan speed to high..

Why on earth are you buying a 600W PSU again?

There are a few people who do need 600W of electrical love, i'll put money on you NOT being one of them.

£10 says your computer draws less than 350W at full load from the PSU 😉

Exactly...but the issue is most 350 watt PSU`s just are not up to today`s standards and few are actually 350watts......hmmmm

True, but a good name 400 or 500 would do the job just as well and save a few bucks. Probably. (dont' know the exact spec.)

Looks like its a draw between the Liberty 620W and the Noisetaker 600W. I like the option of modular cabling letting the user remove the cable or not install it if its not needed 🙂

but the Noisetaker has features that i also like... like the smart fan that keeps things cooling after pc is shut down. I think there is another solution for the product of smart fan, i just haven't seen it in a while...

Cheers!

well what are the parts going to be in your system? if you have a pretty good gaming rig (dual core + 7800gt) you don't need much more than 400w, if that. i'd drop down the wattage and consider other brands if this blowing up issue is really such a great concern

Well, the system its for will look like this:

Lian Li PC-V1100b Silent Plus
Liberty 620
Raptor WD150ADFD SATA + 300GB SATA Maxtor backup drive
Opteron either 165, 170, or 175
1 Optical drive DVD burner
1 Floppy
Creative X-Fi Elite Pro
1 or 2 GB of the highest overclocking DDR ram
7800GTX BFG 256 from a friend for 200$ pristine condition
Either the ATi 580 MB chipset board; if that comes out in june then the, heck with that and it will either be the Asus A8N32 or DFI SLI-DR Expert

You really don't need a 620W PSU, a 400W fortron would power it all well enough, as would any other brand name 400W PSU (except the seasonic 430W, which annoyingly doesn't have the PCIe power cable so you'd need an adapter.)

Well his planned rig looks pretty expensive so why stop now.

how do we delete a topic?

you wanna know the reason why? cause my Enermax EG465P-VE wasnt giving my current setup enough power to the mother board, yeah sure get a 400w psu, right

and a waste too... why stop now

then why was the 3.3v rail dropping out of the +/- 10% ripple allowance? i didn't mention in my sig that my current system also has 2 additional hd's 1 optical dr, a floppy, and about 6 or 7 fans

And....?

Your current system is rather odd, while your new system is bloody boring in comparison, we see 101 of them every week. Look at the FX-60 review, the first page has some power draw numbers, those are what the entire system draw from the wall, in other words knock 20% off for losses in the PSU. Either way it drew less than 300W.

BTW, i'd ditch the GTX for a 1900XT with the money you save on the PSU by going with a good 450W. The GTX is a rather poor choice in the current market.
