Enermax Active Users Blog

Enermax just started a blog for information, promotions, and the like. Currently, they are drawing for people to get a free Liberty 620w power supply to evaluate and post reviews on newegg. There are some other rewards, and promotions are promised to be on the way.

Sign up here

Once you've enrolled go to http://enermaxusa-active.blogspot.com/ to view the main blog.

Seems like a really cool idea if they execute it properly. They could really be turning an ear to the enthusiasts.

Signed up.
And, sorry, woofersus, I would've referred to you but I totally forgot when filling it out. 🙁
Oh, and gratz on the free Liberty 620W. 🙂

I love the "hire a shill" campaign:

"For the past year or so, we have been receiving some negative feedback about our Liberty 620W. So we decided to do a challenge.

Here are the rules:
- Be an "Enermax Active User"(Enroll)
- Sign up is now closed.
- If you are picked, go ahead and purchase a Liberty 620W from NewEgg.com. You will be reimbursed 100%(tax, shipping...everything).
- Post your honest comments(good or bad) on NewEgg.com once every month."

Although I agree that Newegg reviews need to be taken with smaller than a grain of salt, that approach is kind of shady.

LOL do you get to keep it idefintely? Post every month, how about wait a year and then post...since it is about after a year that they have been going boom

Well I recently posted negative comments on newegg about my liberty 620 plus emailed the enermax marketing manager directly about it. Enermax is going to replace that pos with a new infinity 650 or so they say. I'll let you guys know how it goes once they make good on their promise. If they don't then you know you'll hear from me. The liberty line is junk and they know it which explains the gimmicky approach. They also invited me to join up in the blogsphere but no thanks I'll trash them out in the open.

Wow! They didn't even replace with the PSU that they are trying to promote? That is pretty shady if you ask me. Let me see how this is looking:
* Sign up to get a possible free PSU.
* order you PSU from Newegg, which will sell them more PSU's
* fill out your paperwork and hopefully get a 100% rebate
* post your comments once a month? for how long? This will only dilute the feedback there, which is not always the best anyway.

No I think I'll pass on that. I'd rather buy it "IF" I decide it fits my budget and requirements. I don't want to be forced into buying something that I may not want anyway.

the Infiniti is a better PSU than the Liberty

Yeah, but my point is that if the PSU is sooo good, why don't you just replace the bad one with the same one?

Is it? Not to troll Enermax because I've used many and they've always been good to me, but the Infiniti 720W that was in my review last year blew up in very much the same way all of these Libertys have blown up (rectifier on the primary sink). 🙁 It CAN'T be a QC problem. There has to be a design flaw somewhere.

Jonny have you heard anything on what is going on internally at enermax? I'm not happy with their recent performance and am moving away from their products. Loosing a sli mb and dvd-rw were enough for me to shy away from them. BTW the fella from enermax who said he'd get back with me today about rmaing my liberty hasn't made contact with me yet. I'm thinking that the giant bs flag is almost up to full mast here. I suppose that I should be getting nervous about my galaxy now. I've got too much money invested in my hardware to have a bullshit ps take it out.

Well its Thursday, two days after I spoke to the enermax marketing manager and the customer service rep he referred to me. The rep said he'd get back to me yesterday about rmaing the ps. As of today I've not heard a peep from either of them. Call this what you want to but the facts are the facts. I will continue to post updates as they occur and if enermax does make good well you'll hear about it from me. Maybe they'll just ship me an infinity first then let me send in the bad liberty. I'm not holding my breath waiting on this one.

After I posted I emailed the marketing manager at enermax. Shortly thereafter I received the rma information from customer support and now my defective liberty is on its way to CA. I really do hope they hook it up to a really expensive set up and put the video up on youtube for us. I'd love to see the show that ps will deliver when it gets powered up like so many others before it. The first part of the show is the burning smell. Part 2 consists of the explosion/fire show. I'll let you guys know how this turns out.
