Enermax 465 VE FC 80 MM Fan Question...

Hi,

Have a Enermax 465 VE FC (with temp controlled fans) and was wondering if the 80MM fan is supposed to always be spinning, albeit at a slower speed at lower temps... or does it shut down completely if the temps are under a certain threshold.

Case temps ~28C.

My understanding was that the FC "Fan Control" models simply have one of the two fans powered by the motherboard, so that it switches off when you put your system in Standby or Suspend. The rest of the time, it's a thermally-regulated fan that varies its speed with the temperature, same as the non-FC version.

Sounds like my 80MM died then no?

Damn, just got it to replace a VE that was giving me messed up voltages.

Mine doesn't spin if my case temp is low. When it warms up, it spins. The fan is temperature controlled.

Hmmm ok thanks bozo. I could have sworn it was spinning most of the time when I installed it initially. Haven't changed anything in my case.

You can just open the case and hold the temperature sensor in your hand for a while. It'll spin up if it's working properly.
