Enermax 431Watt PS stupid question

I just got one of these power supplies and it has some extra cables i have never seen before. It's got a connector for a P4 and another pleg that looks like an ATX plug, but it is smaller. Whats it for? It also has a connector like on a CPU coller fan. Should I plug this into my MB on one of the fan headers or will it short out my MB??

Aux power connector (pentium4),Power connector(pentium4),and fan monitor connector(3pins)
these are listed in the Enermax manual on page 6 ....check the MB manual before using the fan monitor connection

actually...

6 pin (or so, i forget) in ONE line is for server motherboards which require more juice. it existed before the p4
4 pin, 2x2 arrangement is for p4 specifically.
that 3pin dealie is for RPM management of the 2nd fan (clear one)

So it should be cool to plug the 3pin one into one of my fan headers on my motherboard? I have 4 of these om my motherboard. It's an IWILL kk266-R. 2 of the connectors on the MB ar called FAUX which I am assuming Aux. Fan.

Yep it`s safe btw you don`t have to but it`s good if you want to check the RPM etc 🙂.

Yes, in general. However, some MB BIOS does not like fan rotating at less than 2000 rpm. It will stop the loading and report a hardware problem. The Enermax fan runs at 1500-1700 rpm when cool. In that case, you may have to set the MB BIOS to ignor the fan limits.
