hi everybody,
i am looking for energy efficient motherboard for my new pc upgrade.i am going to use a intel q9300 for this machine.it is going to work for x 264 rip and normal movie playback.i plan to attach a lcd monitor.so i want to know whether can i connect the monitor over igp or i should put a ati 3450 or something alike.i wont be playing games.
so please advise me on following
1)is igp on motherboard good enough for 1080 p playback or i should put ati 3450 or something alike?
2)i want this system running at some time of day and remaining time it should hibernate and then come out of hibernation to do the recording of tv shows and some download.
so what shall be highly efficient motherboard?
3)i am planning to use 80 plus certified corsair power supply.

so please help me build a efficient system which will be green enough to be run unattended and i am planning to use vista premium for this.

right now i have compaq presario with 3.06 intel p4 processor and 512 mb ram.it runs quite hot.so i am looking for something really cool and energy efficient.

please help me.thank you.

I'd go for the Amd 4850 or new phenom 9100e (65 watts) if newegg ever gets them in stock. The 780G or 8200 boards are very energy efficient with onboard video.
